Itinerary Day 1: Greater Addo Elephant National Park Meet your crew in Port Elizabeth early morning, then head to Addo Elephant National Park for an afternoon game drive. Now the third-largest national park in South Africa, Addo is home to vast elephant herds and diverse wildlife. Spend the afternoon spotting game in this unique landscape. Overnight: Three Pools Day Camping Meals: Dinner Day 2: Graaff Reinet Travel to Graaff Reinet, South Africa’s fourth-oldest town, for a city tour. In the evening, enjoy a sundowner excursion to the Valley of Desolation, offering spectacular views of the town and Karoo landscape. (Note: In winter, the sundowner activity is moved to the next morning.) Overnight: Nqweba Campsite Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 3: Lesotho – Malealea Cross the Great Karoo into Lesotho, a mountainous kingdom over 1,000m above sea level and home to some of Southern Africa’s highest peaks. Arrive at a remote campsite nestled high in the mountains. Overnight: Lesotho Campsite Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 4: Lesotho – Malealea Explore the mountains on foot and visit a Basotho village. The Basotho are known for their iconic hats, colorful blankets, and surefooted ponies. An optional pony trek offers a unique way to experience mountain life. Accommodation: Malealea Lodge or Camping Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 5: South Africa – uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park Leave Lesotho and travel through the stunning Golden Gate Highlands to the Drakensberg Mountains, also known as uKhahlamba ('Barrier of Spears'). This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a hiker's paradise. Overnight: Road Lodge Umhlanga Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Day 6: uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park Enjoy a full-day hike in the Drakensberg with a local guide. Explore scenic trails, spot San rock art, and take in the dramatic peaks. Hike options are flexible to suit various fitness levels.
