Description
Depart from Durban and head north along the coast to northern KwaZulu-Natal. The first stop is DumaZulu Cultural Village, showcasing traditional Zulu culture with beehive huts arranged around a cattle kraal.
A local guide provides insight into Zulu customs including basket-weaving, spear and shield making. You can purchase decorative beadwork from local artisans. Watch the village Sangoma perform traditional bone throwing, dancing, and singing.
Next, visit the town of St Lucia inside the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park and board a riverboat for a two-hour guided estuary tour. Observe the unique ecosystem and keep an eye out for hippopotami and crocodiles. The park is home to lions, zebras, elephants, leopards, giraffes, black and white rhinos, and fish eagles.
