Your tour begins with a pickup from Tropicana Hotel or nearby hotels within a 5km radius. You will visit Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal’s capital, for a brief sightseeing stop to see the Mahatma Gandhi statue by City Hall.
Next, travel into the Drakensberg Mountains and up the Sani Pass, a 33-kilometer gravel road featuring tight zig-zag curves along steep cliffs. Starting at Sani Pass Hotel at 1,566 meters above sea level, your 4x4 will navigate the challenging road to the border post with Lesotho.
Reach the summit of the pass at 3,240 meters above sea level. Here you will visit a local Basotho village to learn about their daily life before returning down the mountain and crossing back into South Africa.
