The day begins with a morning visit to Victoria Street Market, where you can shop for African-inspired accessories, clothing, souvenirs, home decor, and artwork. Adjacent to the market is the Zulu Medicine Market, where your guide will lead you through “Inyanga (Doctors) lane,” offering insight into traditional Zulu medicine and culture.
Next, visit the Durban Botanic Gardens, established in 1849 and the oldest surviving botanic garden in Africa. The garden spans 15 hectares and features a variety of indigenous and exotic plants, including heritage trees like a 160-year-old baobab and an avenue of London plane trees.
The tour continues to Phezulu Safari Park, located in the Valley of 1000 Hills. Here you will experience Zulu cultural dances, visit traditional Zulu huts, and learn about the Zulu way of life. The park also offers a game drive and opportunities to purchase traditional crafts.
