Tour Description
The tour departs Durban at 6am and explores two significant battlefields from the Anglo-Zulu War. Guides share Zulu oral histories to explain how the battle of Isandlwana was won, offering insight into the bravery of Zulu warriors and chieftains defending their king and land.
Following Isandlwana, the tour continues to Rorkes Drift. This battle followed immediately after Isandlwana and is known internationally. At a small mission station, 139 British soldiers defended against 4000 Zulu warriors. The British victory resulted in the most Victoria Crosses ever awarded in a single battle. The site represents a story of courage and sacrifice amid extreme hardship.
The tour concludes with return to Durban around 3pm.
