Mount Edgecombe Driving Range & Golf Academy

Mount Edgecombe Driving Range & Golf Academy is a golf practice and coaching facility on Cornubia Drive in Mount Edgecombe, Durban. The range sits between the two Mount Edgecombe Country Club championship courses and caters to golfers across a range of experience levels, from beginners developing basic skills to experienced players working on specific parts of the game.

The practice areas include grass hitting sections, undercover bays and matted hitting bays. Dedicated short-game facilities provide space for work around the green, while manicured putting greens support putting practice. The venue also has ten TrackMan simulator bays, adding a technology-led option for golf practice and indoor-style sessions. TrackMan bay bookings are available through the facility.

Coaching forms a central part of the venue. Individual golf lessons are available through PGA Professional coaches, with programmes aimed at technique, consistency and broader game development. The Golf Academy includes junior and ladies programmes, giving younger players and women dedicated routes into structured learning. Golf courses, corporate packages and team-building options extend the coaching and practice offering beyond one-to-one tuition.

A club fitting centre and Pro shop add practical support for golfers considering equipment adjustments or new golf gear. The venue also includes a fully licensed coffee shop, providing a place for refreshments during a practice session. An intimate conference centre supports meetings and functions, while a children’s playground makes the facility suitable for some family occasions and children’s birthday parties.

The overall character is practice-focused and instructional, with a combination of open-air hitting areas, sheltered bays, short-game facilities, putting greens and modern golf technology. It suits individual golfers booking lessons, players wanting regular practice, juniors and ladies joining academy programmes, and corporate groups looking for golf-based activities. Families can also make use of the playground and function facilities, subject to the arrangements made with the venue.

Located at 42 Cornubia Drive, Mount Edgecombe, the facility is positioned for golfers seeking a dedicated practice environment rather than a full championship round. Range access can be affected by rainfall, so conditions and availability are best confirmed directly before travelling.
